This is a 5000 SqFt Commercial freezer [10 Degrees below zero] in the Baldor Foods Corp.
facility located in Hunts Point Market, Bronx NY. The whole facility is a 250,000 SqFt building
maintained at 45 to 50 degrees F  [24 hours a day - 7 days a week].

The glycol radiant subfloor warming system maintains 50 degrees under the 6" insulation
barrier, which is under the 8" concrete freezer floor. This prevents the earth sub-base below
everything from freezing and then heaving the floor, resulting in a damaged and inoperable
surface for the fork lifts and electric pallet jacks to ride on.

An inoperable fork lift/pallet jack surface puts the freezer out of commission, which is a big
"No! no!for this type of operation.

The subfloor temperature is maintained by an AO Smith 30 gallon electric hot water tank
piped to a glycol heat exchanger. It doesn't take much to maintain high mass temperature
once the high mass area reaches the target operating temperature.

Warm and cozy stuff, literally.
