An old single zone "Steam System" ripped out and repiped to two individual "Hot
Water Systems".
Each apartment has their own heating and domestic

Upgrading this two family house will pay off
quickly. The old oil-fired steam system was inefficient and costly to run on the landlords nickel.
Constant bickering between tenants over the level of comfort was another
unnecessary nuisance. Now with totally independant and efficient
gas-fired hot water systems, each tenant can control their own level of comfort. And best of all, it's on their
nickel. The apartments were
beautifully renovated
and made more spacious with "in wall" Sunrads.
As a result, this renovation provided better rental income and a lot less headaches to manage. It also eliminated
a death trap basement full of low
hanging steam pipes.
One can now do their laundry without taking their life into their hands walking around the basement.
Overall, this is a "Win-win" improvement.
